Epson PowerLite 93+ projector is easy on your pockets
Coolest Gadgets &bull Jan 24, 2012
I remember back in my younger days, projectors were considered to be bulky and expensive - and they generally do not do well in fairly lighted conditions, preferring the confines of a room that cockroaches love - in pitch black darkness. Well, technology has certainly progressed a long way since then, and companies do churn out projectors that will run just fine (and silently, too) in a relatively bright room, and at higher resolutions, too. The Epson PowerLite 93+ projector is one of the latst models from Epson that target K-12 classrooms, where it will take over where the current… Full Story »

Alienware X51 launched
Coolest Gadgets &bull Jan 19, 2012
Dell's Alienware brand is one that targets gamers, and I for one, am extremely glad that Dell did not water down the Alienware brand after they acquired it many years back. Alienware continued to maintain their own range of high powered, high quality gaming PCs, although those tend to veer towards the bulky side. It would be very rare for someone to lug their Alienware machines to another's house for a LAN party - but all of that might eventually change as of today, thanks to the release of the Alienware X51. This is the company's smallest gaming desktop to… Full Story »

Liquid Image introduces the EGO HD
Coolest Gadgets &bull Jan 13, 2012
We have reported on Liquid Image products before. They are most most effective at making digital cameras that are mounted onto specially made goggles. Clearly, the crowd for these devices are the extreme sports people, the ones who ski, dive, ride, or some other type of daring activity that I don't do. This crowd would be familiar with GoPro and Contour cameras that attach to helmets, and it would appear that Liquid Image wants to get in on this tiny camera action with their new line of EGO HD. The EGO HD is a "mini extreme sport camera for surfboards,… Full Story »

LightPad turns the smartphone into a tablet
Coolest Gadgets &bull Dec 20, 2011
Why would anyone want this? Have you ever done something on your smartphone that is so much easier to do on a laptop or tablet? I don't even like sending text messages because I can't stand touchscreen keyboards. Fortunately, the LightPad has a keyboard attachment. There is a video after the jump if you want to see how it works, and the display that you see here is a projector with a 854 x 480 resolution for an 11-inch screen. Future models of this will have the same size display but with 1280 x 720 resolution. I'm not certain if… Full Story »

Coolest Gadgets &bull Dec 13, 2011
Now that the holiday season is in full swing, you might be wondering what could be the perfect gift for the holiday. May I be the one to suggest practicality, and give something that every smartphone user should have? Yes, I am talking about the gifts of the HDMI (that is a play-on of Gifts of the Magi, in case you didn't get it).
